Warrenton Dog Park has two separate fenced areas—one for small dogs, one for large—and that separation actually makes a difference. I've been taking mine here for years and it's way less chaotic than parks where all sizes mix. The place sits right on the waterfront off NW Warrenton Drive in Hammond, and there's a walking trail that goes down to a pier overlooking the Columbia River. On clear days you can see straight across to Astoria with both the Megler and Warrenton bridges in view. The park provides water, poop bags, and bins so your dog can cool off if it's hot out. Bathrooms are there for you too, which is honestly rare.
The reality check: parking is tight, especially on weekends. They expanded it recently but it still fills up. The trails get muddy as hell in winter because it's mostly sand that doesn't drain well. I'd avoid it after rain unless you're fine going home and immediately hosing everything down. The place is genuinely well-maintained though—water stations actually work, bags don't run out, and there's seating where you can actually hang out instead of just standing there.
It's worth the trip if you're in the area. The waterfront location makes it feel less like a standard dog park and more like you're getting outside for something. Château le Woof is right nearby if you want coffee after, so that's a solid combo for a morning outing. Just go early or on weekdays if possible, and bring towels for winter visits.
